JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - It is not just ducks that flock to Northeast Arkansas this time of year but people do as well.
As a result, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission officials are asking duck hunters to be cautious and courteous this weekend.
The increased traffic with people can create problems, officials said Thursday. The AGFC are reminding hunters if you plan to hunt in a wildlife management area, you are not allowed to head out until 4 a.m.
The state agency is also asking hunters to be careful while operating a boat, including not casting off if someone else is leaving.
If you are reckless, it may cost you some money and a little bit of your freedom as well. A person convicted of intentional hazardous boating can face a $5,000 fine and up to 90 days in jail, officials said.
You can also have your hunting and fishing privileges revoked for up to a year.
