MAY 25, 2005 - Posted at 11:27 a.m. CDT

McCRORY, AR - A McCrory teenager died this morning after apparently jumping from a fast-moving freight train as it passed through McCrory.

According to investigator Barry Roy with the Arkansas State Police, 18-year-old Kevin Whitmore "hopped" the train in nearby Augusta and rode it to McCrory.  He then apparently jumped from the train, and Roy says the jump proved to be fatal.

The accident apparently occured sometime between 4 and 5 a.m. this morning.
