BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - A southeast Missouri man has been charged with sexual assault after an attack on an 8- and an 11-year-old girl, according to Captain Scott Adams with the Blytheville Police Department.
Adams says Carlo Love, 18, of Dunklin County was charged with rape of the two children, who were known to him.
Investigators obtained evidence from a sexual assault examination. Detectives also say they found bruises on the 11-year-old girl.
The victims told officers that Love asked them if they wanted to play a game when Love locked them in a room.
During an interview at the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office, "Love denied using any type of force against the victim", according to Adams.
Love also claimed one of the young girls was known to be "sexually active and stated that she has made advances towards him in the past and on the night in question," Adams said.
Love will appear in court for his charges Jan. 30, 2017. A judge ordered Love to be held on $150,000 bond.
