Mayor urges caution about group asking for donations

Mayor urges caution about group asking for donations

WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - The Walnut Ridge mayor says police have heard complaints about people knocking on doors asking for money. It's even happening in Hoxie.

In a social media post, Mayor Charles Snapp says some of the people asking for money are reportedly seeking church donations.

Others told residents it's for a college and they could be signed up for a cookbook.

The group has not checked in at the Walnut Ridge city hall to get a permit, according to the city post.

Snapp urges residents to use caution when giving money to strangers.
