MARMADUKE, AR (KAIT) - A substation in Greene County will receive repairs Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Power outages are possible.
According to a news release from Craighead Electric Cooperative Corporation, repairs to the Marmaduke substation are planned for Tuesday night starting at 10 and will last until 4 a.m. Wednesday.
The static wire above the power station is frayed and needs to be replaced.
To do that, the entire substation has to be powered down.
To keep the power on, the substation's energy load will be transferred to surrounding stations.
Craighead Electric states no customers will lose power if there are no complications with the repair.
However, if the energy load becomes too much for the other stations, some will be without power until the repair is complete.
The co-op states members can help keep services from being interrupted by using less energy during the repair time.
Communities affected by the repair are Marmaduke, Lafe, Mounds, Gainesville, Hooker, and Stonewall.
