Berry Continues Battle with Prescription Drug Manufacturers

WASHINGTON - First District Congressman Marion Berry called on House Leadership today to bring several pieces of legislation to the floor that would reduce the price of prescription drugs for the nation's seniors.  Berry joined many of his colleagues in sending a letter to the Speaker of the House requesting a vote on drug importation legislation and also signed a discharge petition for legislation that would allow Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices.

Berry also signed a discharge petition calling for an immediate vote on legislation that would allow the Secretary of Health & Human Services to negotiate with drug companies for lower drug prices.  Under current law, Medicare is the only entity that cannot bargain for lower prices.
