JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - When sitting down for lunch Thursday, some Region 8 students received a special Christmas serenade.
Violin students at the Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School in Jonesboro entertained their lunchroom with Christmas classics.
Violin teacher Delania Owens said she sees growth in her students with every song they play.
"It gives them confidence," Owens said. "Students who may have not found exactly what their passion is, they take on the violin and that gives them something, it gives them confidence when they learn to play."
This is the first time for Owens' class to do the lunchtime serenade.
The students eating lunch could barely take their eyes off the violinist.
Owens hopes this helped spread Christmas cheer while also allowing her students to get practice for their concert next week.
