JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro woman reported a real-life Grinch to police after her Christmas tree was taken.

Police were called to a residence in the 4800-block of Samantha Ave. around 2 p.m. Thursday.

The 38-year-old victim told Officer Jeremy Smith someone took her plastic tree from her front porch.

It happened sometime between midnight and 5:30 a.m., according to the incident report.

The woman said the tree had ornaments and a blue angel on top.

She pointed out to Smith a trail of ornaments from the tree that led from her porch to a ditch behind her home.

Smith stated in the report "it was obvious" the suspect pulled the tree across the ditch due to shoe prints in the mud on the other side of the ditch.

The officer also noted several ornaments and the angel were on the ground headed north through a vacant lot in the direction of Mitchell Drive.

No arrests were made.
