JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A record breaking 1,405 Arkansas State University students took the stage Saturday morning to celebrate what they've worked so hard for; graduating and earning their degree.

The fall semester graduation ceremony took place at the Convocation Center. Dr. Lynita Cooksey conferred a variety of degrees to approximately 717 undergraduates and 688 graduate students that spanned six total colleges.

Two students who both graduated today said it's a feeling they won't forget anytime soon.

"It is really kind of overwhelming. It is an awesome feeling. Four and a half years of hard work for all this right here," student Matthew Crociata said.

"It is like the blood is rushing to my head a little bit. It is insane," student Loren Snook added.

The number of students graduating Saturday broke the previous record of 1,350 students set back in December 2012.

After the ceremony, a reception was held for the graduates and their families.
