Lawmaker proposes change to state immunization law

LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) - Children attending school or daycare in Arkansas may soon be required to be immunized.

The proposed law would remove both the religious and philosophical exemptions.

State Representative Karilyn Brown of Pulaski County told KATV she believes in religious liberty, but that liberty comes with responsibility.

Brown said she grew concerned after the recent mumps outbreak in Northwest Arkansas.
