PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

Paragould police arrested a man wanted in Texas for sexually assaulting a young girl at a children’s museum.

Friday afternoon, investigators found 40-year-old Joseph Anderson at a home in the 300-block of Landrum Lane. According to the incident report, Anderson was hiding in a closet.

Anderson, according to Paragould police, was wanted for sexual indecency with a minor.

He’s accused of sexually assaulting a family friend’s 11-year-old daughter during an October visit to the Children’s Museum of Houston.

Detective Lee Donovan of the Houston Police Department's Special Victim's Division told Region 8 News that Anderson is currently being held without bond awaiting extradition to Texas.

The Paragould Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, the Department of Community Corrections’s SRT team, and U.S. Marshal Erik Johnson participated in Anderson’s arrest.
