JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Local authorities said Tuesday they are looking for a thief who took the simple, bare necessities of life - a television, a mattress and some food.

A woman told police Monday that someone broke into her burned out apartment recently.

According to the police report, the woman lived in an apartment in the 1300 block of Flint Street. She told police that her apartment caught fire and the Jonesboro Fire Department arrived to put out the fire, Sgt. Lane Holmes said.

"Apparently after the fire was out, JFD left and did not secure the residence," Holmes said.

Police believe someone, between Dec. 10 and Dec. 11, got into the home and took the items.

Police have no suspects in the case but are investigating. Anyone with information on the burglary can call Jonesboro Crimestoppers at 935-STOP.
