LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KARK) - Almost half of the FBI's Violent Person Database entries come from Arkansas.
However, a report by KARK states that doesn't mean there are more offenders here in the state, but that local law enforcement is really trying to protect their own.
The nationwide database flags any person known to have committed violence or made credible threats against police.
About 47 percent come from Arkansas and the Arkansas Crime Information Center says it could make a life-saving difference when it comes to police encounters.
