HAYTI, MO (KAIT) -

Police arrested a Mississippi man Wednesday after they say he called a Region 8 business and threatened to kill everyone inside.

The Pemiscot County prosecutor’s office has charged Terry D. Lester, 41, of Byhalia, Miss. with making terroristic threats with reckless disregard of risk or cause evacuation/closing of a building, inhabitable structure, and place of assembly.

Chief Paul Sheckell said Lester called a Hayti business Friday afternoon and threatened to “shoot up and kill everyone with an assault rifle.”

Hayti police identified Lester as the suspect and filed a probable cause affidavit with the prosecutor’s office.

On Wednesday, with help from the Memphis Police Department, officers arrested Lester.

He’s being held in lieu of a $200,000 cash or surety bond awaiting extradition to Pemiscot County.
