BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Baxter County deputies arrested a man after a fight occurred that that sent one other man to the hospital.

According to a press release, Joshua Shane Bermingham was arrested after the fight happened at the 220-block of DuPont Lane in Gassville on Tuesday, Dec. 13 around 7:40 p.m.

According to the release, a deputy arrived on the scene after a 911 call and found the front door of the residence open and noticed broken glass and other objects on the floor.

A man was found lying on the floor unconscious and in a pool of blood with marks on his hands, face and head. He was taken by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.

The release also states a second deputy arrived on scene and after a perimeter search, found Bermingham behind the residence, laying on the ground and appearing heavily intoxicated and having blood on his hands and clothing, deputies said.

The caller arrived back at the scene, and explained the details of the fight, stating that Bermingham attacked the victim, hitting him and even striking the man with a lamp and wooden chair. The caller told deputies she tried to call 911 but Bermingham grabbed her phone and broke it, authorities noted.

That is when she ran to the neighbor's home and called 911.

Deputies arrested Bermingham and charged him with 2nd-degree battery, 2nd-degree criminal mischief, 3rd-degree interference with emergency communication and public intoxication.

Bermingham was given a $15,000 bond and was scheduled for a probable cause hearing Thursday.
