JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Students from the Blessed Sacrament School spent some time with nursing home residents on Friday.
The children visited St. Elizabeth's Place to give care packages to residents.
They called the project "gifts for grandparents" and the children passed out 100 care packages.
"Oh the kids love it," said Gretchen Marlin, a parent volunteer. "They were so excited to come today and we have been singing carols."
The gift bags included hand cream, candy, and handmade cards.
Several parents say they enjoy seeing their children give back and hope to continue the effort next year
