HELENA-WEST HELENA, AR (KAIT) - SOLFUELS USA announced Friday they have acquired a 40 million gallon biodiesel plant in Helena.
According to a press release, the plant will be located along the Mississippi River on 32.8 acres of property and will be able to handle trucks, rails, and barges on the river.
The company plans to retrofit the facility to use multi-feedstocks and they expect the facility to be fully operational by the second quarter of 2017.
"We are convinced that local biodiesel production capacity in the U.S. remains largely under invested and the location of this plant 60 miles from Memphis with its multi-modal logistical capabilities makes it an ideal location from which to distribute biodiesel," CEO of SOLFUELS USA Henri J. Bardon said.
SOLFUELS USA will add up to 15 jobs in the city of Helena and another three to five jobs in Memphis.
