JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - City and county investigators are searching for vandals who recently targeted two church properties.
On Friday, Dec. 16, Craighead County sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a possible break-in at the Walnut Street Baptist Church Annex, 3433 County Road 766.
A passerby reported the blinds in one of the windows were messed up and that the doors were open, the initial incident report stated.
When deputies arrived, they found most of the windows had been broken, but the doors to the building were locked. They did not find any sign of entry, and there was no visible damage inside.
According to the report, the vandals broke six windows valued at $400.
In an unrelated incident, Jonesboro police investigated a residential burglary reported Saturday afternoon at a vacant home in the 200-block of North Bridge.
Debra Lakes told officers the True Church of Christ the Devine 4 owns the property.
It appeared the door had been kicked open, but Lakes said nothing had been touched.
An extra patrol was placed on the location for all hours.
Anyone with information on either of these cases should call Crimestoppers at 935-STOP (7867).
