Juvenile charged with attempted murder after shooting at an officer

MARIANNA, AR (KAIT) -

An Arkansas juvenile faces a long list of charges, including attempted murder, after shooting at a police officer.

According to the Marianna Police Department, the officer was chasing the juvenile near MLK and Montgomery Streets early Monday morning.

Police said during the chase, the teen pulled out a gun and shot at the officer.

The officer’s K9, Joker, helped track down and apprehend the teen.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, the officer recovered a stolen handgun from the juvenile along with marijuana.  

The juvenile is charged with attempted capital murder, aggravated assault, fleeing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drugs and firearms, tampering with physical evidence and theft of a firearm.
