Exception to county nepotism policy approved

GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

The Greene County Quorum Court hosted their monthly meeting Monday night.

On the agenda were several items including financial and law enforcement reports, a resolution to amend the budget and an ordinance to establish the operating budget for 2017.

Greene County Judge Rusty McMillan reported a 3.8% increase in revenue from this time last year.

The 2017 operating budget was approved at the meeting as well as an exception to the county’s nepotism policy.

McMillan said the newly elected county Assessor Jane Moudy, has a relative that works in the assessor's office who was hired by the current county Assessor Diane Simons, prior to Moudy’s employment.
