Man arrested after home break-in

BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Sheriff deputies arrested a Lakeview man in connection to a home burglary on Monday.

According to a news release from the Baxter County Sheriff's Office, the victim told the sheriff's office that his home in Lakeview was broken into on Dec. 18.

At least $105 in cash and a $25 TJ Maxx gift card was stolen from the home.

It was the second break-in at that home, authorities said.

The victim went back to the sheriff's office on Dec. 19 after going to TJ Maxx in Mountain Home to make the store aware of the stolen gift card. Store personnel determined the card was used on Dec. 18.

Investigators were able to get a photo of the person who used the card.

The victim identified the man as 32-year-old Duane Mark Dean, Jr.

Investigators interviewed Dean, who admitted to breaking into the victim's home and stole the items.

Dean is currently on felony probation from Marion County with the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, officials said.

Dean was arrested and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on Dec. 19 on charges of theft of property, residential burglary, possession of firearms by certain persons, and possession of a controlled substance. Dean was given a bond of $25,000 and will appear in circuit court on Jan. 26, 2017.
