LITTLE ROCK, AR - State Police are investigating whether an object was thrown or had fallen from an interstate overpass in Little Rock, striking a windshield and killing a woman.

The incident happened late Saturday afternoon when an SUV driven by 50-year-old Caroly Mirek of Little Rock was struck.  Mirek died Sunday morning.  Her 15-year-old daughter was in the car with her and brought the vehicle to a stop.

Mirek's family members are calling the death a homicide.  State Police say they are still investigating.  The vehicle remains impounded as part of the investigation.
