JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police investigated two residential burglaries on Christmas day.
Officers were first called to the 500-block of State Street around 3:37 Sunday afternoon.
The officer spoke to the resident who said her house was ransacked between 1 p.m. on Dec. 20 and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday since she was not home during that time.
She noticed her home was broken into through the living room.
The resident told police her 32-inch Samsung television and stereo speakers were missing.
As they searched for more missing items, they found a knife and a green and black glove that did not belong to her under a couch pillow.
The knife and glove were logged into evidence.
Police were then called to a home in the 1700-block of Wembleton Drive around 5:10 p.m. Sunday when the residents of that home noticed that someone broke in sometime between 2 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday.
The resident told police the sliding back door and front door were both open.
The resident told police that a Playstation 4, a Playstation controller, a laptop, two 50-inch televisions, a 40-inch television, a 12-gauge Mossberg pump shotgun, a 22-caliber long rifle, and a 40-caliber handgun were missing from the home.
Police collected a pill bottle from the home that might provide fingerprints.
A man nearby said he saw a black or dark purple Chevy HHR or PT Cruiser driving through the area and believes they were the one who broke into the home. Police have not developed a suspect yet, though.
