BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Authorities are looking for the person who took nearly $1,600 worth of cigarettes from a Blytheville store earlier this month.

According to Detective Scott Adams, police went to the Hays on West Moultrie Street around 4:30 a.m. Dec. 22 after getting a call about an alarm going off. Officers saw a large store front window broken out, but could not find a suspect.

However, security footage showed a black male in an over-sized parka style jacket throw a rock at the building, Adams said.

Soon after, the suspect reportedly went into the store and put 20 cartons of Newport 100's and six cartons of Newport short cigarettes into a black bag.

Anyone with information on the burglary can call Blytheville police at 870-763-4411.
