Tate was walking west across Red Wolf when a southbound Chevy Silverado driven by Michael Steinnegger, 59, of Jonesboro struck him, according to the incident report.
An ambulance took Tate to St. Bernards Medical Center with several injuries.
This was the second time a pedestrian ended up in the hospital after being struck near that same intersection.
