LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas Attorney General and Jackson County native Mike Beebe will travel across Arkansas next week in an apparent plan to formally announce his anticipated Democratic campaign for governor of Arkansas.

According to an e-mail to the K8 newsroom from the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, Beebe plans a seven-city tour across Arkansas on Tuesday, June 14, that will conclude with a fly-in announcement at the Jonesboro Municipal Airport.

Beebe's schedule for Tuesday includes a 7:15 a.m. announcement to begin the day at the White County Courthouse in Searcy.  Beebe represented White County in the Arkansas Senate for twenty years before being elected as Attorney General in 2002.  Other announcements are planned in Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Texarkana, Pine Bluff and Little Rock.

Beebe was born in Amagon (Jackson County) in 1946, and is a 1968 graduate of Arkansas State University.  He is also a former member of the ASU Board of Trustees.
