2 tornadoes confirmed in Jackson Co.; no warnings issued by NWS

JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Days after storms rolled through Region 8, two more tornadoes have been confirmed by the National Weather Service.

One EF-1 tornado happened near Possum Grape at 3:13 a.m. Wednesday. Winds with the storm were estimated at 110 mph.

The tornado had a 4.2-mile track and was 200 yards wide.

The other tornado also rated an EF-1 hit at 3:20 a.m. southeast of Diaz. Winds were also estimated at 110 mph.

This tornado had a 1.6-mile track and was 125 yards wide.

Tornado Warnings were not issued during these storms by the NWS. However, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued at the time.

During that time, however, the Region 8 Storm Team was on air warning residents in those areas get into their safe places.

Tornadoes were also reported in White County.

An EF-2 was reported in Kensett Tuesday night with winds estimated at 115 mph. The survey on that tornado is still in progress.

Higginson was also hit with an EF-1 tornado the same night.
