WEST MEMPHIS, AR (KAIT) -

A fight over a woman ended with one man in jail and another man dead.

At approximately 6:20 Friday morning, West Memphis police responded to reports of a man shot in the 2500-block of East Thompson Street.

When officers arrived at the scene they found 43-year-old Gregory Brown shot multiple times in his car.

An ambulance took Brown to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis where a doctor pronounced him dead.

Witnesses told detectives the shooting stemmed from a dispute between Brown and 26-year-old Jeremiah Burns over a woman that both men had an interest in, according to Captain Joe Baker of the West Memphis Police Department.

Burns later turned himself in at the WMPD where detectives questioned him. They later took Burns to the Crittenden County Jail and charged him with first-degree murder and terroristic acts.

Burns is scheduled to be arraigned in district court on Monday, March 6.
