JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The Northeast Arkansas Home Builders Association is hosting a Parade of Homes throughout the weekend.

According to realtor and designer Danna Johnson, the event is free to the public and six new homes are included in the event.

The six homes are located on Rockport Dr., Serenity Hills Dr., and Windy Lane.

According to Johnson, around 200 people viewed the showcase home on Saturday.

"There's only one showcase home and in that house, we try to use a lot of your newest features," Johnson said.  "New flooring, we've put some of the barn doors in, we've got shiplap, kinda paying homage to Joanna Gains here, since she's so popular right now."

Johnson added that $20,000 of the proceeds from the sale of the home will go towards the Home Builders Association.

The association plans to use the money for scholarship funding, special housing projects, and political lobbying for bills that affect the housing industry.

The Parade of Homes event will be held again on Sunday, Mar. 5 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
