A-State Women’s Basketball Set to Face Georgia Southern in SBC Tournament

NEW ORLEANS, La. (3/4/17) – The Arkansas State women's basketball team has earned the No. 11 seed into next week's Sun Belt Conference Championship tournament and will take on No. 6 Georgia Southern on Tuesday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in New Orleans, La., at Lakefront Arena.

A-State finished the Sun Belt Conference with a 4-14 mark in the league and will play the Eagles who wrapped their conference slate with a 9-9 mark after losing to Georgia State on Saturday.

Should A-State advance to the quarterfinal round, they would take on the No. 3 seed Troy on Thursday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m., while the semifinals are slated for Saturday, March 11 at 7:30 as well. The championship game will take place Sunday, March 12 at 6 p.m.

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament will take place March 9-12 in New Orleans, La., and all games will air on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App.
