Two people died over the weekend in separate crashes around Arkansas.

One crash happened on U.S. 62/412 in Baxter County Saturday afternoon.

Poyner was driving east when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle head-on driven by 80-year-old Janet Newman of Elizabeth, according to Arkansas State Police. Newman's vehicle went backward and struck a third vehicle driven by James Memohon, 83, of Mountain Home.

Newman and Memohon were injured and taken to a Mountain Home hospital.

A second fatal crash happened Sunday morning in Monroe County.
