Woman, 2 children injured after car hits tree

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - Investigators say no one inside a car that crashed into a tree Monday morning was wearing a seat belt.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at 7:23 a.m. on Butler County Road 441, two miles west of Poplar Bluff.

Gabrielle L. Thresher, 31, of Poplar Bluff was northbound when her 2011 Chevy Impala ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, according to the online crash report.

Thresher suffered moderate injuries. Her two passengers, 12-year-old Wyatt Pruitt and 10-year-old Aiden Thresher, also of Poplar Bluff, sustained minor injuries. All three were taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Trooper K.L. Huggins who investigated the crash reported neither Thresher nor her passengers wore seat belts.

The car was totaled.
