Region 8 is home to a new eatery serving up N’Awlins style dishes right here in Downtown Jonesboro. Region 8 Eats’ Andy Mannis pays a visit to a new hole-in-the-wall restaurant where he discovered plenty of unique Cajun and Creole dishes. In this webisode, N’Awlins Arkansas shares one of their favorites, Bananas Foster. Having been around since the 1950s, this famous dish got its start in New Orleans.
The heart of this dessert are bananas and vanilla ice cream. But, it’s the sauce that makes this dish really special made from brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, dark rum and banana liqueur.
2 oz. butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 oz. lemon juice
1 ½ oz banana liquor
2 oz rum
