Man arrested after officers find Molotov cocktails

CONWAY, AR (KAIT/KARK) - A pair of Molotov cocktails were discovered at an apartment building fire recently in Conway that injured two people, according to a report from Little Rock television station KARK.

David Hartsell was arrested on suspicion of arson and two counts of battery at the fire that destroyed an apartment building at the Germantown Apartments. According to the report, Conway firefighters found the Molotov cocktails in an apartment where Hartsell lived.

One of the cocktails, a large bottle with a wick still attached to it, could be seen outside the apartment while the other one - a gas can under the sink - had a wick coming out of it, police said.

Hartsell, who had been charged with arson in Conway County in 2005, reportedly had a strong smell of gasoline on him. In the 2005 case, he reportedly pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation, KARK reported.

Hartsell was being held in the Faulkner County jail on a $500,000 bond.
