CRITTENDEN COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Just minutes after sheriff's deputies reported a missing woman and her grandchild, the pair was found safe and sound.

Tuesday afternoon the Crittenden County Sheriff's Department reported 54-year-old Tracy Maxwell and her 5-year-old granddaughter, Jaci Stone, were missing.

The pair had last been seen 5:30 p.m. Monday at a home in the 5200-block of Highway 42 in the Heifer community.

The child's great-grandmother said Maxwell was babysitting Stone while the child's parents were at work.

She said Maxwell and Stone left the house around 5:30 p.m. and never returned.

Just minutes after alerting the media, law enforcement authorities contacted Region 8 News and said the woman and her granddaughter were found in a field, "stuck in the mud."

Investigators say both are "doing fine."
