Fight between cousins leads to shotgun drawn

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An argument between cousins ended with one pointing a loaded shotgun in the other's face and threatening to kill her, police said.

A 19-year-old woman told police she was house-sitting for a friend in the 1800-block of Cedar Heights Thursday morning when her 22-year-old cousin came to the apartment.

She said the two got into an argument, and he grabbed a loaded shotgun and pointed at her.

According to the initial incident report, her cousin told her: "If you wasn't my cousin, I would kill you." [sic]

The woman said when she tried to call the police her cousin knocked the phone out of her hand, he then started hitting and choking her.

Some neighbors came to her aid and "got him off of her," she said.

The named suspect then ran out with the shotgun and handed it off to someone at a nearby apartment.

The responding officer noted the victim did not have any visible wounds.
