Name released in deadly weekend house fire

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

A house fire resulting in the death of a woman is still under investigation.

Quanita Thomas, 26, of Blytheville died in the fire that happened Sunday, according to Blytheville Fire Chief Mike Carney.

Firefighters went to a home in the 800-block of Delmar Street around 7:30 a.m. after getting a call about the fire.

Fire officials said Thomas was the only person at the home.

According to Carney, the fire started in the kitchen but the investigation into the cause in ongoing.

The woman's body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock for an autopsy.
