JONESBORO, Ark. (3/13/17) – The Arkansas State Athletics Department announced Monday that Grant McCasland is stepping down as head men’s basketball coach to accept the same position at another university.

“I was informed today by Coach McCasland that, due to his family situation in Texas, he has accepted a job at another institution,” said Arkansas State Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir.  “We wish him and his family the best moving forward.”

Arkansas State will immediately begin a national search for its 16th all-time head men’s basketball coach.

“There is no question in my mind that we will find a strong individual to lead our men’s basketball program,” said Mohajir.  “There are a lot of exceptional attributes attached to this basketball program, and I believe this position will attract outstanding coaches.”

The A-State Athletics Department will hold a 4:00 p.m. press conference today, March 13, regarding the men’s basketball program with Director of Athletics Terry Mohajir in the media room located in the Convocation Center.
