LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KARK) - New efforts are underway to make health inspections from the Arkansas Department Health easily accessible to the public.
Right now, health inspection reports in Arkansas are not available online although they are in other states.
"We're not electronic yet," said Kelli Kersey, section chief for Arkansas Department of Health Cosmetology and Massage Therapy. "We're actually trying to go electronic. We've been testing on that but haven't launched it yet."
Reports before the year 2016 are available on paper and can be accessed from your local health department.
Several other states use a grading system to make visitors aware of the conditions of a restaurant, but according to NBC affiliate KARK, Arkansas law prohibits public rankings or gradings of businesses.
