Shots fired at house, but victims refuse to provide information to police

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Two people involved in some recent shootings found themselves the target of yet another shots-fired call in Jonesboro but they're keeping mum about who might have pulled the trigger, police said.

Around 9 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a call of several shots fired into a residence in the 300-block of East Word Street.

The five witnesses said they were inside the home when an unknown subject fired approximately six shots into the house, according to the initial incident report.

Police searched outside and found fresh tennis shoe tracks in the mud where the shots appeared to have originated.

Investigators took photographs of the footprints and of the bullet holes. They also recovered two bullets, including one from a couch cushion in the living room. They found a second bullet in a bedroom.

Police were unable to collect the other three bullets that "stopped in the attic or the walls," the report said.

All of the victims said they did not know who might have opened fire; however, the report noted two of the victims had been involved in other recent shooting incidents.

"The victims seemed to know why the house was shot, but would not provide information at the time," Detective Joe Robinson said. "Some of the victims made retaliatory statements, but would not provide information on scene as to suspect information."
