Old-style garden party to raise funds for new park

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Don your seersucker suits and grab your sun hats for an old-style garden party.

Main Street Batesville will host its first-ever garden party on Saturday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the historic home of Danny Dozier, 984 E. Boswell.

The event, which is being presented by Merchants & Planters Bank, will include a southern brunch, door prizes, and music.

"In this town, we've always loved our outdoor gatherings," said Shannon Haney, director of Main Street Batesville. "It's a southern thing, but it's also a very Batesville thing. You can take a look around the historic district and the porches, the patios, the gardens, and the gazebos make it evident that's where we've been passing the time for nearly 200 years."

Tickets are $60 per person and $100 for couples. Proceeds will benefit construction of Maxfield Park in downtown Batesville.

For more information, call Main Street Batesville at 844-462-4482 or visit batesvillegardenparty.eventbrite.com.
