OSCEOLA, AR (KAIT) - There's a new police chief in Osceola.
The city announced in a social media post that Captain Ollie Collins, who has served on the Osceola Police Department for 18 years, has been appointed as the new police chief.
He succeeds David Gladden, who retired after 28 years of service.
Mayor Dickie Kennemore said Collins is "well-qualified to step into this position," and congratulated him on his promotion.
Collins is a lifelong resident of Osceola. He and his wife, Sandra, have one son, Kendrell, who is attending law school at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
