Silver Alert inactivated for missing nursing home woman; son in custody

MCCRORY, AR (KAIT) - UPDATE: The Silver Alert for 82-year-old Merle Marie Miller has been inactivated and her son is now in custody.

According to a Facebook post from the Prairie County Sheriff's Department, authorities located Miller at the Loomis Landing area south of DeValls Bluff.

Miller's son, George Andy Miller, was arrested on unrelated felony and misdemeanor charges.

Miller faces felony in possession of firearm charges and terroristic threatening charges.

A Silver Alert has been issued for a woman who went missing from at nursing home in Woodruff County.

Arkansas State Police issued the alert for Merle Marie Miller early Thursday morning.

According to ASP, the 82-year-old woman from McCrory went missing around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. She was last known to be at 139 Highway 64 in McCrory near FG Truck Stop.

It is unknown if she walked off or was picked up by someone possibly driving a blue Toyota Tundra, according to the alert.

Miller was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black pants, and was carrying a red purse with white trim.

She is 5'8" with medium length brown hair and hazel eyes.
