BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Deputies arrested a man after they say he pushed a woman into a door, then threatened her with a gun.

Baxter County sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in progress call Thursday afternoon in the 100-block of Harding Boulevard in Cotter.

When they arrived, deputies found 26-year-old Clayton Elliott Hatchet holding a .40 caliber Glock.

After securing the weapon, officers spoke with the victim who said Hatchet pushed her out the door of the home, banging her face on the door.

She then said Hatchet “made verbal threats against her with respect to the handgun he was carrying,” Sheriff John Montgomery said in a news release.

Deputies arrested Hatchet and took him to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was charged with terroristic threatening and domestic battery in the third degree.

Hatchet was released from jail after posting a $5,000 bond. He will appear in circuit court on March 23.
