JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The fifth annual Westside Memorial Ride was held Saturday on the Westside campus.
The event's proceeds go towards the upkeep of the school's memorial garden in honor of the victims of the 1998 shooting.
Motorcyclists and even some drivers took part in the ride throughout the Westside campus.
"To us, it's personal because we were here when it happened and when we came back out here after 14 years the garden had overgrown," said event organizer Chris Scott. "We felt like we could do something about it so we started this event."
Scott and his wife were both Westside Middle School students at the time of the shooting and he said the garden holds a special place in his heart.
"I'm glad to see that its getting improved and that I was able to raise the money to help with it," he said. "The community needs this."
A moment of silence was held at 12:41 in honor of the victims.
About 45 motorcyclists participated in the ride around the campus.
The event also included food, door prizes, and live music.
