(RNN) - The Secret Service detained a man who drove up to a White House checkpoint late Saturday night and claimed to have a bomb in his vehicle, CNN reports.

White House security was immediately upgraded, and the suspect vehicle was searched by a bomb squad technician and a robot.

Four hours after the claim was made, the checkpoint remained blocked, but several streets in the area, which had been closed, re-opened. Bomb technicians and additional security personnel left the area.

President Donald Trump was not in residence at the time of the incident. He is spending the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, FL.

The report comes after several recent breaches in White House security.

A man jumped over a bike rack Saturday afternoon, causing the White House to go into lockdown and the security level to be raised as Secret Service assessed the threat.

The individual was arrested within two minutes of jumping over the bike rack, according to CNN.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer praised the Secret Service's response on Twitter.

A man jumped over the White House fence in a separate incident March 10. He made his way to the South Portico entrance before being apprehended. The breach was not revealed until the next morning.

The Secret Service has been criticized for its response to that incident.

That jumper was reportedly on the grounds for about 15 minutes. Trump was at the White House at the time, and the man claimed to have an appointment to meet with the president.

In addition, a Secret Service laptop containing security information about Trump Tower was reported stolen Thursday.
