A-State to name Mike Balado as men's basketball coach

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - According to A-State Sports Information Director Jerry Scott, Arkansas State University will announce Louisville assistant Mike Balado as the school's new men's basketball coach at a press conference Monday.

The 10 a.m. press conference will be held at the A-State Convocation Center auditorium and is open to the public.

Balado, who serves as an assistant for Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino, is currently in the NCAA tournament. Louisville won its first-round game Friday against Jacksonville State and are playing Michigan Sunday.

The Cardinals are 25-8 this season and are the 2nd seed in the Midwest region.

Balado will replace Grant McCasland, who announced last week that he had accepted the head coaching position at North Texas.
