JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A man faces a drug delivery charge after police found marijuana hidden on the man.

According to a Jonesboro police incident report, Kendale D. Smith of Jonesboro was arrested Sunday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver after a traffic stop. According to the police report, Smith was the passenger in a car that was pulled over at the corner of Johnson Avenue and Labaume Street.

Officer Joseph Branstetter said he pulled over the vehicle for no vehicle tags and was talking to the driver when he noticed the smell of marijuana, the police report noted.

Branstetter asked Smith and the driver if there was any marijuana in the vehicle.

"Smith stated that he had just smoked and that there may be a roach in the passenger seat, but there was nothing else in the vehicle," Branstetter said. "While searching the vehicle, I found a blue bag in the backseat that was wadded up. I opened the blue bag and found a Ziplock bag with suspected marijuana inside along with a measuring scale."

Branstetter then searched Smith and the driver.

"While searching Smith, I felt an unusual bulge in his groin area," Branstetter said. "I asked Smith what the bulge was and he stated it was more marijuana."

The driver was not cited, police said.
