JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Police arrested a former car salesman Thursday morning after they say he drove off the lot with three new vehicles and kept them.
Officers arrested Kyle David Rees, 37, of Jonesboro on suspicion of theft of a vehicle valued at $25,000 or more and contempt of court, according to the Craighead County Sheriff's Office inmate roster.
The general manager of Fletcher Dodge, 3314 Stadium, reported that Rees took three 2017 Dodge Journeys from the dealership. He placed their value at $86,265.
He said they discovered the missing vehicles around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
An inventory audit revealed Rees had checked out the keys prior to his termination 30 days earlier, the manager told police.
Rees' father, according to the report, called the manager on Wednesday to say they could find the cars at his son's home in the 200-block of Cloverdale.
The dealership recovered the vehicles, then called police.
