Did you know that every day in Northeast Arkansas someone loses their home to fire? Sadly, injuries are often sustained and even worse, there may be loss of life.
The American Red Cross is committed to reducing the number of home fire injuries and deaths by 25% by the year 2020 through the Home Fire Campaign.
The American Red Cross serving Northeast Arkansas is celebrating a century of service to our community by installing 1000 free smoke alarms across the region with a Home Fire Campaign Mega Blitz.
On April 29th, hundreds of volunteers will meet this goal by spending the day installing free smoke alarms in homes that need them and helping families create an escape plan that could save their lives in the event of a home fire.
The Red Wolf athletes and I are teaming up with the Red Cross, local fire fighters and community partners to strengthen our community and save lives. Join us in the defense against fire on April 29th at St Bernards Auditorium where you will have the opportunity to volunteer your time, make a financial contribution or donate blood.
For the past century, the American Red Cross has been helping our Northeast Arkansas neighbors. 131 lives have already been saved through the Home Fire Campaign; together we can save hundreds more.
These are a few things that will make A Better Region 8.
